The museum is located in and around the birthplace of Father van den Elsen in Gemert and houses several authentic buildings and faithful replicas and displays an extensive collection of objects and tools from the past.

Around the village pump on the attractive and characteristic village square there are several small craft buildings to see, where crafts are also regularly demonstrated. As in every small village in Brabant, there is a small café and village shop.

There are also several old buildings on the museum grounds, sometimes a true replica, sometimes a real building that has stood elsewhere and was rebuilt brick by stone by volunteers of the Boerenbondsmuseum. There are a mechanical clog factory, a tree trunk sawmill, a manual milk factory, a rural school and the NCB Destructor on display. All the buildings are decorated as if time has stood still.
